His hands look older than his face. Hard to believe he’s 95.

It's a common problem in starship captains.

Remember, he spent most of his career traveling at relatavistic velocities. 95 Earth years have passed since he was born, but due to time dilation his body has only lived for a fraction of that.

I don't remember the show ever hinting at this. Like the crew of the enterprise who spent signicant portions of their lives at high warp, coming home to meet younger brothers that are now older than them. Does anyone remember any in-show nods to this I might have missed? In any series.

Never. They don't travel at near relativistic speeds, they go faster than light by creating an artificial bubble that bends space. So no time dilation in that universe.

The Impulse engines that Starfleet uses for non warp travel are relativistic sub-light engines. Full impulse is about 0.25c. They make a point of not using them for long periods of time to avoid time dialation issues. When needed they synchronize the ships time with a nearby starbase to make sure they don't drift too much.

I think the 0.25c claim is mostly Technical Manual content and not on-screen canon. The manual also claims that the stardate calendar is designed to cope with time dilation and relativity of simultaneity issues.

He forever has my respect for when he went up to space with bezos, and he was explaining the Majesty of space and got interrupted by bezos being a dumbass and pouring champagne on his wife's tits. The look that fell on shatners face was incredible and immediately endeared him to me

I knew he went to space, I must have missed the champagne incident. Apparently the overview effect doesn't work on everyone.

Lots of trek alum, plenty of snark, occasionally tackled heavy topics. Overall liked it.

Didn't the two BFF main characters get gay married at the end for totally-nonsexual-benefits reasons?

That does strike a bell as the kind of weird plot they'd have explored. I haven't watched since it aired, but I remember it had both Odo and Quark for a number of episodes.

the first time i watched it i was absolutely not ready for the music

I liked it when Denny shot the child killer in the kneecap because he didn't want to be his lawyer! 😂

You reached the end
