Holy shit i'm getting fucking old... played this when i was 10 on PS1, i'm almost 40... goddamn... great combat racing game, try them and put the least amount of focus on the graphics and you'll lose hours driving in circles at 500mph.

This reminds me of two games, PowerSlide, of which I played a demo in the early zeroes and GRIP, a more recent game like this with VR support. I loved PowerSlide but I've never been able to find anything about it anywhere

Edit: Never mind

GRIP is a spiritual successor and is ,in my opinion, a better game than the originals. They actual teased a sequel just last week called GRIP XR which is exciting.

I was so excited for Powerslide Slipstream, then Midway had to buy Ratbag and immediately fire everyone :(

I still have a Powerslide CD though and it still plays great. You can also buy it on GOG, not sure if they got the music working on the GOG version, since the original plays music from CD.

That reminds me of Manic Karts, a karting game with decent music. If you'd just put the game CD in a stereo, it played the soundtrack. Really cool.

Little-known recommendation if you enjoy Rollcage - check out Firebugs, also on PS1.

Same developer as Rollcage, but largely forgotten because it came out after PS2 had taken over.

Thanks. I didn't know about that one. It looks like a weird kids kart racer version of Rollcage but I'm going to give it a try.

I don’t think it’s as good as Rollcage overall, but still worth playing.

Oh shit, I remember playing a demo for this probably around 1999 and enjoying it a lot but I never played the full game!

I remember and loved the demo too. It was a perfect showcase but the actual game is a little rough around the edges.

I played this demo so much too. Almost certainly a CD insert from PC Gamer magazine.

When I was a kid I mainly bought demo discs, I loved this game. You could go around smashing everything to pieces, flip flop, crash and still be moving forward.

You reached the end
