The controller requires neither large memory nor storage so it shouldn't be affected.

That's because they want to put it out at the same time as the machine and frame. They'll continue to be quiet until they secure the RAM they need or drop the other hardware due to shitty AI companies buying everything up.

There's really not a lot to say about the controller until release.

Looks like I got one of the last ones. Just got mine delivered on Wednesday.

Directions unclear. Currently freezing in Antarctica, still can't buy a Steam Deck.

But the penguins are cute.

I’m glad I got one for one my friend’s birthday. Given the price of computer parts, I figured it was only a matter of time before that either went out of stock or skyrocketed in price.

Valve was powerful enough to spearhead good consumer software.

Could they do the same for hardware?

That will be tough. The problem is the chip fabs. The entire auto industry couldn't get them to budge when they needed chips that the fabs didn't want to make, so I don't think Valve has any real chance.

This. Building a new supply chain is no small feat and can take years of planning. We are all caught on our back foot by these contracts, unfortunately, even though no money has been spent and the data centers haven't been built.

We're suffering for the collective delusion of billionaires.

I'm not a historian, and I feel like I can reasonably say since at least the early 1900s, so probably before even that.

Let's hope the rage of the gamers can make Sam Altman and the whole goddamn tech bubble get what it deserves. /s

I think Australia still has stock. They have a warning about intermittent stock outages but all SKUs were showing estimated 3-5 business day delivery time frame when put in the cart. Unless I am misreading something.

This is unfortunate for Indie Game devs too since I suspect deck owners will be more likely to purchase lesser known titles on the cheap.

I definitely have been buying more indie games since my deck has been my main gaming rig. I don't have to worry about framerates dropping and many are deck certified which makes it easier to take a chance.

I am really really sad that I didn’t get the chance to upgrade to a OLED one. Had my LCD model since the release waves from the beginning
