He says this while the US begins to actively fund and create fascist organizations to destroy the EU. The US is a disease on the continent.

"offered a tone seen as softer and more reassuring"? - the message was still the same. Read between the lines and the threats are still there. And as long as the current US government is actively interfering in other countries elections, founding extremist right wing organisations, letting their billionaire tech bros influence people by spreading lies and hate and telling other countries how and with whom to do business we are very far from putting any trust into their words. Their deeds do the talking.

In a way I'm glad that at first the words matched the deeds even though they're backpedalling now. Many people needed to hear those words to understand what it's really like.

We have to hope people don't forget.

Genocide now by children of victims of genocide in the '40s kinda suggests people will forget. If those people have such a thirst for mass killing, the rest of us haven't a chance.

Couple months of threatening and now they want to be friends again. US is like 5 years old kid with dementia.

What else should one expect of a country that elected a criminal, demented moron with the mind of a 5 year old? Twice.

Don’t do that: my beverage just exited through my nose 😂

Friends usually share mutual respect, and quite frankly, we have lost all respect for you Yanks

For decades allies could pretend it was a friendship. However the level of toxicity has been exposed so thoroughly under Trump that we can't go back. We cannot be bullied and held back by the US for their sole gain any longer.

13

The absolute best the US should ever expect going forward is a zero trust transaction.

2

Trump and his slaves are lying, dishonest crooks & the EU should bar them from entering our territory.

10

And I would assure him that corrupt fascist-supporting lying turncoats (anyone remember his publically told opinion about Trump before kissing his ass?) can go fuck themselves. Which incidently is the soft-toned version of my opinion about this piece of shit.

The resignation and suicide of your president might be a good olive branch you absolute blithering toilet stain.

🫨 Something must have shifted for the worse if the US admin is taking a step back.

7

Maybe they believe sponsoring the far-right in Europe will give them enough influence soon enough? That sounds like too much long-term thinking for Trump but Rubio, Vance, and Thiel might go for such a scheme.

11

They aren't taking any steps back. They are doing the exact same things, just saying something else so that they can later say "we wanted to be friends, it was you who didn't" while doing all they can to fuck us over.

He is the kind that I would like to meet in a dark room with my whip and a taser.

They have a hell of a lot of revitalizing to do. A formal excuse to Denmark and Greenland would be a good start.

We'll wait.

Task: Trump apologizes and says he made a mistake. level: impossible.

2

I'd rather the people apologize after making an example of the billionaires and politicians that got us into this shit-show

1

The EU doesn't speak out for Iran or Cuba. That suggests that the EU still supports the US.
