Tesla’s driver-assistance package is now called “Tesla Assisted Driving” in Europe. The company’s German website no longer mentions “Full Self-Driving,” and the old address now redirects to a new “Tesla Assisted Driving” page.

The strategy has worked so far, winning a critical first approval in the Netherlands that cleared the way for a Europe-wide vote expected soon by regulators from 27 European Union countries. Seven other EU countries, including the Czech Republic, Belgium and Denmark, have granted Tesla national approvals for the driver-assistance technology, which is not fully autonomous.

But Tesla’s campaign is built on faulty company safety research that can’t support the company’s claims to officials or the public, according to seven traffic-safety researchers who examined its methodology for Reuters.

Škoda has recalled about 1.7 million vehicles worldwide over a potential steering failure, just days after parent company Volkswagen and its subsidiaries Audi and SEAT recalled several million vehicles over the same issue.

The right response isn’t panicking about a hacked account, it’s treating unexpected chess.com emails with more suspicion than usual and checking whether that same email address has turned up anywhere else, since reused credentials remain the far more dangerous exposure than anything sitting in this particular file.
