Read the story.

I'm not saying she was right, but it's not as comically villainous as it sounds.

She's has a young child with autism, and this kid was bullying him and repeatedly dunking him underwater.

Again, not condoning her actions, just saying there are some mitigating circumstances.

Security footage obtained by ClickOrlando shows Griffith wading over to the boy and holding him down in the water for approximately two to three seconds.

She dunked a kid in retaliation, not held him underwater potentially drowning the kid.

Dumb of her to do but not evil.

But did she quit because the cops are evil, it just to become a mother while still supporting the cops? There's an important difference.

It's a kid. How hard would you need to scream so it would cry and walk away?

If you interact with kids on the daily, you might think differently. Many kids are beyond what would be reasonable. Unsure about this specific one in the article but pointing out that kids are sometimes combative towards officers, teachers, doctors, etc. It's hard to say given the limited information.

My ex gets hit so often as a teacher that she doesn't even register when her kids tapp her shoulder for attention.

I'm saying she's right.

If you harm a kid who was doing nothing to you, you deserve everything coming. Autistic kid or not.

I'll punt a motherfucker.

Some kids do stupid shit without any understanding of the consequences. If the kid is an asshole on purpose, it was most likely taught to be so. Kick their parents' ass in front of them, you might at least have less jail time

As shitty as that kid probably was, you don't touch other people's kids.

Ex cop. Everyone else is a criminal and deserves extra judicial punishment.

Yes, even other people's kids.

It's bad but not like, jail long enough to rot bad. I hope she gets community service and a mandatory class.

Yeah, at the time of posting the only other comment was excusing attacking a 6 year old so I felt the need to overcorrect a bit

The problem with statements like these are that they should only apply to the most awful acts... This is not one of them.

During college, I took some classes that had to do with the justice system. Did you know that after about 2 years in prison, cognitive ability to function declines and reduces one's ability to function normally in society? After 3-5 years, institutionalization begins and they simply won't be able to handle it, statistically speaking.

So when people start barking for extended times, remember that people can change and learn but not if they are locked up for 15+ years.
