You guys hate carpet in the bathroom? I can one up that. My parents have a bathroom with carpet that goes up the bathtub walls! Bonus points for the terrible wallpaper.
Haha we just rented a house last weekend that had carpet that not only went up the side of the tub but had about 6 inches of carpet on the top edge too. Deep pile stuff too, not as low as in OP's picture. Quite a sight to see in person
It doesn't matter if it's a carpet to wipe your feet when you leave the bathroom so the floor doesn't get wet, but if it's like in the picture, hmm..
Imagine "something" (you know what that means) dropped on your carpet and left just like that, it would be better if you knew that and changed the carpet right away, but if someone else dropped "something" and just kept quiet.
This is one of those posts I want to downvote just because I'm angry I saw it.
I wouldn't judge you for doing so
This is good because you can pee on the floor and you don’t have to clean it up right???
What a terrible day to have eyes
Wrong community, there is nothing mild about this
Mild, mold... just one letter, a tiny typo.
(^~^) It's not real. I refuse to believe it.
I’d be more worried about pee.
If they had the courage of their convictions they would've carpeted the inside of the tub too.
Can you imagine, that would feel like having a dirty sponge between your toes
Not sure why carpet in the bathroom gets so much hate. Drying off is as easy as rolling around on the floor.
Did black mold write this comment?
I bet you also like avacado bath tubs as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWoWHzq21tA
Thanks, my spine shivered out of my body reading this.
How is there not mold everywhere in that room, my god
Spoiler: the carpet used to be white.
I was going to say I was impressed by how clean it "looks" - then I read this comment and threw up in my mouth a little.
That's the fun part, there is you just can't see it!
WTF is wrong with your folks 😂.
I just audibly gasped. This seems like a sensory nightmare getting out of the shower, or during periods of high humidity.
What a terrible day to have the ability to imagine that in vivid detail. What a cursed image, well done OP.
Ugggh.... the amount of mold eating the urine and poop particles is disgusting.

That makes my skin crawl
Wouldn't set foot in that den of horrors.
That linked reddit thread is accusing the poster of being a karma bot. Does lemmy already have those?
But there is no karma here?
Nope! We do not have karma bots. Karma is about as valuable as the zimbabwe dollar here
That's the main disadvantage of Lemmy. I am paying my rent converting the reddit karma to dollars... 😢
I’d be too scared to pee standing up…
Not infuriating, that's straight up disgusting. Why would anyone do that???
Mold spores live it though!
The carpet is brown for a reason.
Is this in the UK? It is, isn’t it.
Unfortunately it is just as common in older houses, here in the states too.

What the hell, why is it replying outside of it's community
I dunno, i just tried it sry:)
Don't worry, just my stupid bot being broken. !wave
I don't currently support waving comments, Maybe soon!
Good bot
I thought carpet in the bathroom was normal as a kid, since that's what we had in our house.
I'm split on the wallpaper. By itself, I don't hate it, but that carpet really commands the room in a not great way.
This isn't just mildly infuriating, this is absolutely despicable
I have many questions, and none I need answers to.
I don't like this at all.
Late 1970s?
Were people just so drugged up back then they didn't care, or what?
Is such a funny mix of "must be so retro" and "that carpet still looks new
I wouldn't be surprised if there was carpet in the tub
Had carpet like that in England many years ago. Twp primary school boys and a bunch of their friends in the house - things got squelchy real quick
Bro why did you have to make us read this XD .
Omg this tub right here officer.
I would like to know how much mold can be find behind it after a decade
Make it a month or less. Things will go crazy if that thing comes in contact with water.
😬 just..... gross.
Omg, I can just imagine the gross sounds it would make when wet D:
Oh man that's just awful 😆
I had no idea it's a thing. But now I hate it
That makes me feel dirty.
Oh no! Everything about this feels so wrong
"I want my day mildly ruined, not completely ruined." Well.. we didn't really live up to this one here.
That is dangerous.
Why# 🤣🤣🤣
This reminds me of my grandmother's bathroom in the worst way. Even hers wasn't this bad though
Imagine getting reeeeeal close to that carpet and taking a deep whiff. I think I've made myself sick.

I do not know what to say.
