This is defintely the direction I am looking for! I didn't realize qmk supported mouse sensors!

No, but if you enjoy having money, I suggest you look into the Om by ErgoDriven.
An actual steal at 20-30 bucks, imo.
Programmable buttons, alterable DpI up to 2400, even got two basically extra buttons, which, counterintuitively, make a ton of sense.
Not the craziest polling rate, but its great for office type work.
