I don't know what community you frequently visit, but I hardly ever see any shitposting comments, edge lord comments, etc., in the communities I frequent.

crazy thing. humor is subjective. i found the joke quite funny due to its sudden absurdity. it is also pretty safe to assume that this was in fact a joke due to said sudden absurdity.
A lot of folks can't take jokes. They think everything everyone says is 100%. For the most part, when people get really hateful, even when making jokes, that's when they tell you the truth.
That's my opinion, though.

“Jokes are supposed to be funny” that’s wrong. What makes something a joke is intent. Good joke or bad joke can be argued but if the message was intended to be a joke… then it’s a joke.
Not every joke needs to be funny to you personally or funny to anyone at all besides the person making a joke.
