In some countries outside the US, that would be enough for a person to be absolutely filthy rich.
That is how insanely overpriced some things are in the US, and it wasn't because of tariffs. It was corporations wanting as much profit as possible.
You are not filthy rich if you depend on a salary. And that's not FU money basically anywhere.
So that's the thing... in the US even our poor are rich compared to the global poor.
But you're right, people in the US making $50k a year aren't really the problem. The problem is the people who have the average income of the 1%. That's people making almost $500k a year. Which is crazy to think that the income needed to join the global 1% is so much lower than the average income of the 1%.
It's more like 7000 people really fucking everything up, the 1% just sounds better then the 0.00001%

"Assassination isn't great for our society, but I'm super glad he's dead."
When they started babbling back at me I just said
"The real question here is why you're sad a bad person is dead."
