Last time a fake id worked, just searched for an id sample online and gimped it to match the name and the date on the google acc.

Didn't even have to change the default photo.

This was some years ago, idk if it still works tho.

Black male people look according to this site all the same no matter the age?

Probably a lack of data in the training set. It reminds me of the early versions of facial recognition software which had trouble telling not just black people apart, but also women of all ages and white men below a certain age. It was because these early versions had only been trained on photos of employees at the company, and they were mostly older white men.

Credit card is the best of the options. There are all sorts of strict rules and restrictions about how companies store and use credit card information. Those rules don't exist for the other options.

I don’t want to give any of my info to Google though

Compromise is always the game.
You either comprise by not using YouTube anymore, or you compromise by giving them the most tightly restricted information they'll accept.

You'll never have perfect privacy. I guarentee Google already has a supressing amount of info on you. At least this is officially protected. Once you give the card as proof, you can probably delete it from their saved data. And they have to honor that, both by law and contracts with Visa etc.

Do not listen to this guy.

You're literally in Gestapo times and talking about "compromising" sensitive personal information, like they wouldn't be able to track you down in an instant with a few breadcrumbs.

Well yah. I mentioned not using YouTube anymore. That's a viable option.
So is moving to the wilderness somewhere, and living off the grid.
Or to a poor country where it's isn't financially worthwhile to for companies to track everyone.

Yes, but you were casting compromise as a choice between giving your CC info and your ID, and making it look like these are all inevitable to the end user.

Let's not forget that Google is the bad guy enacting these rules, and for Pete's sake, stop blaming the user.

Does it seem plausible that someone would forget about the shitty situation, in a discussion about the least bad option in said shitty situation?

Do we really always need to point out the obvious thing we're already talking about?

I certainly hope not.

I'm waiting for the change in T&Cs to basically say "If you don't watch enough ads, you will be auto subscribed to YT premium using the ccard on file"

12

That's one of the restrictions. If they try to do that, you just call Visa and cancel the charge. Then Visa will fight with Google to get their money back.

It doesn't work for age restricted videos

I am on VPN 24/7 changing countries made no difference

1

Do you use your google acccount? If so, try without it You can use newpipe or invidious btw

2

Tampermonkey extension still works for me to unlock age-restricted videos. Is it having issues for you?

If you don't have it, check out these two links:

https://greasyfork.org/en/help/installing-user-scripts

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/521089-youtube-age-restriction-bypass-stealth-version

It's got instructions for nearly every browser. Once you have the extension you can install whichever scripts you like. I mostly use it for verification bypass but there's a lot of other cool stuff you can do too.

2

For me what worked is restating the router. I read that you use VPN, so I don't know I it will work.

Can you try to make a new account? Or use any of the YouTube frontends?

1

I tried, but it doesn't work for age restricted videos. I tend to use Freetube whenever possible, and only swap to other options when I am forced for age restriction.

2

It almost certainly won't work but I'd be curious if any test credit card numbers work for that purpose. They still pass the Luhn algorithm, but I'm guessing Google is still gonna reach out to some service to verify the CC details.

Test cards: https://docs.stripe.com/testing

if all fails i can highly recommend invidious. you can also import your youtube subscriptions

good luck OP

EDIT: yea... age restricted videos are off the table though.

Assume he is an adult. Explain why he should.

Should what? I didn't say he should anything...?

The same question could be asked of your original comment. Go ahead and expand on what you meant by "why would he want to?", then I'll explain what I meant by my reply.

I don't debate with children or trolls - pick your category - I don't care. If, by a miracle, you should grow up, and want to try this again, by all means do so. Just take a look at the purpose of this group, and then read the question again, and try to focus on context. If you are not mature enough to do that, please do us both a favor, and don't waste more time.

Ok. So you asked a question. I asked Question. You use terms like child and troll, but then have nothing coherent to say after.

Happy to start again. Do you think OP should prove his age or should not?

I doesn't matter what I think. I ask why he would. My preferences is not important here/yet...

Feels like the answer is obvious. Your question suggests you think he shouldn't try to avoid the age check.
