Argentina though - forty sweet Beelyun smackers of taxpayer cash to prop up a political ally of this fascist fraud machine.

“Fuck them [hungry] kids”

Silver lining, at least, we have concrete proof the "Libertarian" concept can only work with giant bailouts 🫠💀

"If history is any guide, a lot of Trump officials will end up fleeing to Argentina" (from recent SNL)

Can't spare anything to feed the poorest and most vulnerable Americans either! Gotta cut that SNAP for gold plated crap!

What's the point of a private ballroom like this? Is he really going to host enough balls and parties to make this worth the space? Normally a ballroom is like rented out and has events going for it and is a community space. This seems just like something stupid for him to have with no purpose.

29

You literally just nailed it on the head.

To Trump and the elite, a gala at the White House would be something worth paying for. It will get rented out. To billionaires, foreign heads of state. Beauty pageant celebrations.

Everything this regime does is to enrich himself. Every authoritarian does that.

If only Jeffrey were still around to enjoy it with him

he needs the space for when PUTIN visits, and he need to be fellating him. Putin is equally tacky/gaudy with his palaces.

Best visual representation of Trumps presidencies, demolishing over a century of US history to erect a monument to his ego.

demolishing over a century of US history

Not to um akshually, but the East Wing as it exists today was built in 1942.

7

To my admittedly limited knowledge that rebuild only affected the interior, the facade was technically intact like that since 1902.

40bn to argetina,,, Bessenets friends that made bad investments that are getting a bailout, it wont go to regular argetinians, other than milei.

I think this might just be the perfect way to take out corruption. Wait until it's built and the first great party is thrown, then the serfs surround it and lock the corrupt in while it gets burned to the ground. The world will be safer and less violent the next day!

Need to hire some experts - let’s see if we can find some canadians

1

how can we make this?

it's we just start calling it like that, it'll be the English word for it.

Wikipedia will list it as Epstein ballroom.

9

I hope to fuck the next administration puts it back the way it was and put in restrictions to disallow total bullshit like this. But again the Democrats are enablers so fuck this timeline.

16

It’s going to be the most garish and tacky piece of shit. He’ll probably try to stiff the contractors.

15

This says something about Trump.

Back under Clinton, the White House lawn needed to be redone for reasons. (Obligatory fuck lawns)

The National Parks service said it would take a few years to complete and Clinton didn't want to do it because he didn't want the look of a torn up lawn in front of the White House to be a news item.

W was told the same thing and he made the same decision.

Obama was told and he was the one to finally do it. I don't remember if it made any sort of news outside the typical inside beltway noise but a lot of folks kind of gave him props for doing that.

This kind of construction isn't going to be pretty and the fact that Trump is allowing it...I mean, it's sort of Obama-esque but we all know it's Trump's ego running the show.

13

It would take video evidence to make me believe the NPS actually signed off on this.

13

Allowing it? NPS didn’t ask to add a ballroom to the White House. Trump is tearing down part of the White House because he’s adding a grand ballroom, same way he paved over the Rose Garden. Literally no one asked him to do this.

Everyon working on this project should feel ashamed. Bunch of cherry picked cock sucking dickwads.

8

It's a historic building, which is always challenging, and I'm sure the end result will be gaudy and golden. That said, I don't think it's unreasonable to add an event space. I'm sure it will be useful.

I know this is not the point but why are they destroying so much stuff that potentially could be reused? I see these entries window frames just being destroyed for no reason whatsoever

2

Not the point, but still a very good point. The material easily could have been reused and there's no shortage of construction that LOVES that type of material to use.

You reached the end
