Why do you comment something without reading the article? This is a quote from someone explaining what they saw, not the reporter describing her like that.
I thought that it was a bit odd wording too based on the quote alone, implying that Greta was some fragile small thing everyone should protect instead of brave young woman that she is. But then I read the article and in context it makes sense, that's something I might say too in the same situation.
