Babe (1995)
Not sure how well known this thirty-year-old gem still is. But I just watched it for the first time with my kids and couldn't stop cheering. This is such a heartwarming fable about speciesism and animal rights. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out, either on your own or with your kids.

Literally tackles speciesism. Even from a dog to pig level.
Funny story. I watched Babe a lot as a kid. I refused to eat pork afterwards. Sometimes at dinner, I’d ask “is this pork?” My family says no. Believe for many years that I wasn’t eating pork but was just being lied to by my family.
I'm jealous you got to experience it for the first just recently. Just an amazingly sweet movie. Don't forget to check out Babe: Pig in the City, a beautiful movie.
Most probably already know this, but James Cromwell, the actor who played the farmer, went vegan on set!
