That's...actually correct and I didn't realize it! I've thought the goat on the left was mid-jump but you're right, zooming in makes it pretty clear the rocks are there. My wife and I have loved that picture since we snapped it, but I'm going to blame it on hiking exhaustion mixed with seeing what we wanted to see.
Hope the picture is cool regardless, but you're totally right. Here's another picture we took as a consolation prize - and the goat is definitely jumping in this one!
Up Aasgard! We had a core permit so we stayed a night at Colchuck, two at Perfection, one at Snow, then finished our hike down. Weather cooperated for the most part, rained on us for a couple of hours our first at Perfection but was dry the rest of the time.
Super cute that goat. Already half dressed for winter
Damn, didn't know there were mountain goats in western australia
I take it there must be an Enchantments in Western Australia for the confusion? My apologies!

I don’t get it. The one on the left is clearly standing on rocks. The one on the right is laying down.
Was the photographer jumping? Did a third goat jump up out of frame

Good eye! We were backpacking up there end of July, my phone says it was taken July 31st.

Did you make the trek recently?
