Celebrate by honoring your second amendment rights? Go to the range and practice shooting at 200 yards?

Hold up, because this gives me an idea.

Let's embrace the celebration. Let's lean into honoring the man they claim Charlie Kirk was. Make remembering him all about the tolerance for debate and discussion, the respect for minorities and women, the traditional values of freedom of speech. In honor of Kirk, speak truth to power, and challenge the conventional ideas.

Nevermind, my mind isn't limber enough for all thos gymnastics.

The effigy should of course start as a fountain of blood from its neck before finally being slowly burnt.

How about we just celebrate all those things on Charlie day and let the man fade away?

Let the actual origin of the holiday become a bit of trivia for generations to come, like how Columbus Day becoming a national holiday was more about Italian-American pride than the man himself

Although granted, with how little Trump wants to do with this, we're more likely to get a ballroom day instead

If this happens, I promise to exclusively call the holiday charlie day and put up decorations with Charlie Day's face on it

I mean I definitely plan on celebrating his death every year on that day. So if they make it a holiday that just means I can also get drunk.

same. not his death, but the stopping of his hate speech

I think an unfortunate side effect of the timing is that people will start celebrating 9/11 as well, simply due to proximity and association. after all, who would mourn americans, what with everything we are seeing from them?

During the first 24-48 hours ring-wing nuts kept blaming the left but then turned out that he comes from right wing parents. Link

And so some jokes around Lemmy that Kirk wasn't right-wing enough.
