From checking news posted to fediverse trans communities, it appeared the doj's intentions to ban trans gun owners was first published on September 4th, and the nra published a statement on the 5th.
That seems pretty quick to me. I don't see where you're getting over a week.
ah ok. I hadn't seen the NRA statement until today. The original announcement from the DOJ felt like longer ago than a week but I guess it wasn't.
We are living in Trump time again. Remember last term? Each day felt like a week or a month had passed, depending. And this time is much, much worse. We’re in front row seats to death of democracy, the routing out of the shattered remains of the middle class, militarization, privacy erasure, and bankruptcy while this admin robs the nations coffers.
This is how the catecholamine response of the human body works. Fight, flight, or freeze it creates an internal sense of a time warp in which everything slows down.

Again, I’m not a fan. I don’t know how long it took them to respond, but, to be fair, there is ALOT out there every day.
I apparently missed the fact that Trump was missing or presumed dead. I tap into social media nearly daily, in part, because it’s less likely to put me on a watch list than googling “Is Trump dead yet” every day.
I only found out about this story from Josh Johnson, who is a weekly watch for me. Either he was exhausted or the lack hit him pretty hard because it was his weakest set.
The NRA is just a sock puppet for the industry. Of course they're going to come out for more gun sales.
I should check if mathematics still work, because everything else in this world seems to have gone weird.
If you dig into the history, the NRA found a lot of traction for 2A with the Black Panthers, back in the day.
