Fun aside - most of the time a bad smell after washing comes from too much detergent, and constant washing on 30-40°C with no 90-95°C loads.

It’s actually from not leaving the door open, close it and everything stays moist, leave it open and it dries fully inside. Most people wash with cold water nowadays, no stink if you don't close the door!

Not sure if your original comment was meant to be in the spirit of Ken M or not but just in case, you should leave your front load door open when not in use to let it dry out.
