That's a tornado.
National Weather Service was gutted by Trump so we don’t have proper warning for tornadoes and stuff.
I feel like an airplane is the safest place to watch a tornado from. You can just fly away from it. However, I'm no Chuck Lindbergh.
If Legend of Zelda taught me anything it's that a piece of cloth held over your head and a tornado are all you need to traverse vast distances quickly.

Takeoff is fun, but trust me, the airport bullshit gets old.
Landing is pretty cool too because by then I'm fucking over it.
