Finally got a better shot of one of the flock's toms!
I've never tried birdwatching before but I had to turn around when I saw them so close to to the road. I came back a moment later and they'd started crossing, so I pulled in my neighbor's driveway, got as close as I could, and took the pictures you see. I'm starting to consider getting a decent camera for this, any suggestions? I regularly spot the flock across at my neighbor's farm (like my last post), which I'd say is probably... 200m or so? I might try and get a better range this weekend.
Side note, you can totally hear them fluff up from a good distance. It's exactly what you'd think it sounds like, just louder.
Mmmmm, dinner.
Re: camera, unless you're a professional photographer and are comfortable in Photoshop you're probably not going to do much better than a mobile phone. In the Android world, Google's AI post processing automates a lot of the work, and can do excellent things with lighting and color levels. I'm a fan of Pixel phones, but I've also seen some impressive photos from Samsung Galaxy phones.
Don't know much about photography with iOS though.
I'm on Android and trying to degoogle. I've already slapped Linux on my PC and I'd love to get a Pixel and put GrapheneOS on it, but one thing at a time. Thanks for the advice!
I'm on a Galaxy now, just never really photographed anything other than my wargame models before.
