Not a native though. Grew up in the personally despised city of Omaha, Nebraska though others have basically the whole spectrum of opinions about it. If you just know the place from the zoo and restaurants you probably love it but living there your opinion depends 110% on neighborhood, place contains both slums that look abandoned despite people being forced to live there and gated communities.
A lot of Lemmy instances don't really federate with lemmynsfw. I noticed this recently when comparing the all feeds of lemm.ee and lemmynsfw with the same block list, result was very different. Something to consider

My wife was raised in Western Nebraska. She moved here as soon as she graduated college. Something about liking electricity and indoor plumbing!
We've been to Omaha and the zoo is something else! We went when the butterflies were migrating which was amazing.
Not a huge fan of insects having grown up around cockroaches so never cared for the butterfly building but I adore that aquarium.
