Hallo,

wie einige von euch bereits mitbekommen haben gab es nach dem heutigen Update ein paar Stabilitätsprobleme, wodurch Posts und Kommentare teilweise nicht erstellt werden konnten.

Wir vermuten dass dies auf eine Änderung in Lemmy 0.19.6 zurückzuführen ist, welche eine Variable in der DB-Verbindung setzt, die anschließend in einer SQL-Funktionen referenziert wird. Wir testen gerade ob dies eventuell ein Problem im Zusammenspiel mit PgBouncer ist, indem wir die Verbindung zur Datenbank gerade direkt aufbauen, ohne durch PgBouncer zu gehen. Falls dies bis morgen stabil läuft werden sollten wir zumindest einen besseren Anhaltspunkt für die Fehlersuche haben.

Das aktuelle Fehlerbild deutet darauf hin, dass entweder nicht jede Verbindung diese Konfiguration gesetzt bekommt, oder dass die Konfiguration irgendwo wieder verloren geht. Dies resultiert darin, dass das Erstellen neuer Posts, Kommentare, sowie privater Nachrichten nicht richtig funktioniert.

Da wir die Datenbankverbindung aktuell auf eine direkte Verbindung ohne PgBouncer umgestellt haben hoffen wir dass die Probleme damit erst mal behoben sind.

Falls ihr dennoch weiterhin Probleme habt, welche erst seit dem Update bestehen, meldet euch bitte zeitnah entweder hier in den Kommentaren (sofern möglich), in unserem Matrixraum, oder, wenn dies beides nicht möglich ist, per Email an support@.

as some of you may already have noticed we've experienced some stability issues after the update, resulting in the inability to create new posts and comments.

We suspect that this is related to a change in Lemmy 0.19.6, which sets a variable on the DB connection, which subsequently gets referenced in an SQL function. We are currently testing if this may be an issue related to the combination with PgBouncer by establishing the database connection directly, without going through PgBouncer. If this runs stable until tomorrow we'll have a better starting point for troubleshooting.

The errors we're seeing currently suggest that either not every connection receives this configuration, or that connections can lose it at some point. This results in creation of new posts, comments and private messages not working properly.

As we currently configured the DB connection to connect to the database directly we hope that the issues should be addressed for now.
