If one is willing to take the risk of direct confrontation by being violent towards oppressors, let them. Meanwhile, you and I can support them and each other via our more peaceful means of fighting back.
Basically, we need both. A history book example, the black rights movement was made possible in large part by the duality of MLKs peacefulness and Malcom X's violence towards oppressors. We have to overwhelm them. Fight back with legislation and violence, just as they are doing to us. You and I can fight the peaceful fight while others confront the violent ones with violence
