god I hated this about london gigs. Gotta go, gotta catch the train! Hurry, hurry hurry!

Same here for shows in the outer boroughs. That’s when it’s nice to have friends near the venue lol

That's when you decide to get first morning train. And regret it at 3 am

Same-ish, with chronic fatigue. This is the way.

To add, if you’re not drinking, take a pain med (Tylenol, neurofen, etc) before as well, to help your old ass bones and joints to not be sore. I usually start hydrating heavy a day or two before. I usually graban Organika or other electrolyte powder instead of Gatorade, and grab a b12 and Coq12. Oh and comfy shoes! Nothing worse than being at like a second or third day of a festival, unable to stand because of sore feets!

me, who rediscovered the power of naps

EDIT: Some time in my forties I stopped trying to ironman the day like I did in my twenties and embraced naps.

Exercise or errands in the morning, no coffee, nap in the afternoon. Then I hit an energy drink and can go well into the night

My 21 year old son tells me:

Honestly, even people my age hate when shows go late. Local shows that end after 10pm suck balls.

They have young people at metal shows where you are? Seems like the only heavy shows people under 30 attend are hardcore.

Me too.

But then every day at 12:01 AM, I continue to exist.

I saw Full of Hell as a 34 year old and found myself wondering what in the living fuck I was even doing there.

15

Nah, this was over a year ago. I honestly don't remember who they played with at this point, but I would remember Dying Fetus.

That's why I love getting lawn tickets to outdoor shows, bring a blanket, and have a good lie down. Helps keep my jimmies un-rustled

I just saw yesterday that one of my favorite bands is playing nearby this summer with a 3PM start time!

Then I saw there are 6 bands in the lineup and they don't even tell me what order they are playing in. I don't want to watch 6 bands in a row, 2 or 3 is plenty, then let me go to bed at a reasonable hour.

Same happens in edm events! That's I always go after 1 hour or 2.

I always inquire what time the headliners are playing at and waltz in after the opening act is done. Except for when Jesus and Mary Chain were inexplicably the opening act with Psychedelic Furs as headliner. Anyways, that was awesome heading home by 8:30 I think.

You reached the end
