Echoes of late 2022 when Twitter abruptly fired thousands of people, then turned around days later and tried to rehire many of them. I'm sure it's purely a coincidence that one person is closely tied to both incidents.

If only we could know who it is, things would be so much different.

It's almost as this is done in a manner to distract from the hidden intention and doing it at Twitter was a test that confirmed its effectiveness. What a weird but definitely not happening possibility. Look over there! 👉 It's a trans immigrant that wants your dogs and women's gold medals!!

You could also mention the Tesla Supercharger team.

And you might also draw parallels that this seems more like spite or other personal whim, rather than motivated by the needs of the organization, or applied with any intelligence

He fired the pandemic response team a few years before covid, because who needs that.

Malicious intent x Incompetency = whatever the fuck this is.

It's an irrational number, that much I'm sure.

24

In any other democracy there would be heads rolling and people going to jail over this. But as usual your elected representatives with their thumbs up their asses

To go work for a fascistic dictatorship? No number is high enough.

10

Maybe running a government isn't like trying to start a start up with a 90% failure rate!

Considering they were betrayed by their country after years of patriotic service, you can probably find some of them in Beijing, and I don't blame them.

That'd be an interesting choice. You could choose any other country and you go with one of the other autocracies? Good lookin foot I have there. Shame if I pulled this trigger.

I'm sure they'd be treated extremely well. Usually there's some good incentives to encourage defectors

9

Yep at least you get a VIP treatment while they suck your brains off

Both places suck big time, change my mind.

That's a chance you want to take with China of all places? No thank you.

I believe some countries don't have as many nuclear plants to hire engineers and scientists. France is one of the countries heavily invested in nuclear and so is UK. Maybe China does as well? I don't know about the latter if they have many nuclear plants and I am too lazy to check at the moment.

8

I don't know either, but a friend of mine is in nuclear research and said that China is investing a lot into nuclear power.

Dude is this seriously all that's happening over there? Like this is not just a bubble with jokes, it's literally just all dumb shit bordering on satire?

We left satire long ago. I feel sorry for satirists, parodists, and other humorists who can’t keep up with reality

14

They are in a war with reality, and reality went and invented the nuke.

3

They are extending tax cuts for ultra-rich and corporations behind the clown show.

It's scary and sad as fuck. We are in for dark days i feel.

I've been doing my best to stay present with my family and know how to protect them first. Next I'll find ways to throw sand in the gears of this shit.

Looks like the majority of the storage facilities are in Red states. Even though some are near me, I feel like saying screw it, let them stay unmonitored and lets see what blows up. A blunder of that magnitude would shake up even the most die-hard MAGAt.

ladiciusreply

You sure? That whole maga bullshit sounds a lot like a ruzzian plot to destroy USA.

Really a lot. Exactly like that tbh.

51

What, you mean just because Trump is Putin's lap dog? Or because Gabbard is now head of Intelligence?

8

At this point, isn’t it similar to asking whether it’s a parody? When reality is more twisted, how do you even write parody or Russian plot that is believable?

Is this the real point? Drive those Russian plotters out of a job by being worse than they can imagine? More extreme than would be believable from them?

you underestimate the power of the hatred that's been carefully cultivated and spread by the right and far-right the last sixty years.

they simply won't give a shit, even if their dick starts glowing green, as long as 'they' get it too.

30

Yeah you're probably right. Reality is a foreign concept to these people.

3

Thank you for pointing out that there is the right and then there is the far-right too. Things aren’t as binary as many netizens seem to think. Shades. Of. Grey.

Eh, I can think of some things that might, its just that incompetence isnt one of them. But like, if Trump suddenly came out as trans or something, that might shake them up a bit.

6

He's ancient, eats like shit and takes amphetamines. His cardiovascular system is shot.

Trump isn't competent enough to plan any of this. If you watch him at an EO signing, he looks like he's hearing about the for the first time as they're being put in front of him. He gets to surround himself with people who tell him he's a special boy and gets to receive bribes while golfing every week. He's a stooge who thinks he's the King.

Trump isn't the scary thing. He's the clown that the scary thing propped up in order to appear foolish and incompetent while implementing the early phases of it's takeover. By the time Trump has a heart attack, the scary thing's plans will have been advanced far enough that opinion polls don't matter because there will be nobody left to oppose it that it doesn't own.

6

They'd just blame it on "the radical left" and usher in martial law and the great purge.

12

Oh that'd be nice, but you just know it'll be "Damn Obama! Why did he blow up those nukes!' without a single hint of self-reflection.

9

this dumb fuck pays for a terrorist attack to happen

bold of you to assume he's actually going to pay for anything

15
sh.itjust.works

Just because this is a common enough mistake, I'm going to publicly correct you for the benefit of other people who might see this comment. I apologize.

It's Martial Law. Not Marshall Law.

11
sh.itjust.works

Then the few people who don't are very prolific commenters because it's a mistake I see often.

1

Now that explains Musk’s obsession with getting to Mars.

1

No, that's martial arts. Martial law involves less improvisation and adaptability. However, it loses to martial science.

2

Martial Law and Marital Law is the one that always gets me.

There's a joke in there about strict curfews and domineering personalities, but I can't be bothered to flesh it out.

I've heard WWIV is expected to be pretty lame in comparison. Something about shitty weapons in the future. So we're really lucky to get to enjoy this one.

9

At the rate of aircraft accidents, it's only a matter of a few weeks before a plane or helicopter crashes into a govt building or installation.

“Trump administration wants to un-fire nuclear” oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck “safety workers” ah ok…

27

You didn't let him finish. The oh fucks continue after an ellipsis of relief that it wasnt the literal worst case scenario.

The good ones have probably already found new higher paying jobs. The ones that come back will be the dregs. But what can you expect from a guy who bankrupted a Casino

24

I didn't know this. But his casino in NY, played out a gambler, they basically got that gambler into the position of owing money. (He had already been draining the casino by winning). When he lost he owed the casino money but the Japanese Mafia killed him before he could pay it.

I think that was talked about in the documentary Hyper Normalization by Adam Curtis. It's on yt if you're interested.

2

I can’t express in words how fucking stupid Trump and his ilk are. I just cannot believe these dumb mother fuckers!

22

It's all funny until you realize that the people willing to go back will be a bunch of spineless loyal yes men.

Everyone thought they were electing a rooster into the henhouse, but the rooster brought in a fox and no one has a shotgun.

11

This seems like the type of job you could be patriotic about. Real patriotic, not fascist clown show. You have stuff with unmatched danger to millions of people for potentially centuries. This is real shit and this job might be among the most important on earth. (Or maybe it’s just my imagination since I have no idea what the reality is)

I’m proud of my job, yet all I’m doing is helping other employees generate more bits. If I help other employees do more with less, more quickly, do these clowns count it as waste?

You would think this is an insult to the Trump administration but it is really a testament to the inefficient chaos that is the government bureaucracy. I worked for the fed government for approximately 15 years when hundreds of coworkers and myself received letters explaining the agency had no idea who we were. We would all have to repeat our background checks and resubmit fingerprints to the FBI. Some of the people had been there for 25+ years.
