Lemmy.world does not load comments sometimes
As you can see, there are "1 new reply" and "3 more replies" buttons but if I press them nothing happens. It's not a problem of my app (Voyager btw) because the same happens on the lemmy.world website.
The problem is not this particular post, but almost under every post I encounter this issue. Does it happen to anyone else? What causes this?
Sign out and you'll likely see comments from someone you blocked.
If someone you haven't blocked replies, then you'll stop seeing the "3 more replies"
Okay I figured out what the problem was. In the language settings there's written "if you DESELECT the "undetermined" language you won't be able to see the majority of the content", so I selected it, and that's when problems started to happen, so I deselected it and now I can see everything. Not sure why there's written that.
I see this sometimes as well, I only have one user blocked and I’m pretty sure it’s not them (spam account from the big spam drama. I think LW blocked the instance, even)
Sometimes if a comment is made while the page is up you'll see it, but then clicking/touching it shows the comments. Or in a very long reply chain, but again you can click those to expand.
I haven't heard of anyone seeing them permanently while not signed in.
I’ll keep an eye on the behavior, never thought to compare it with the website (otherwise I’m also seeing it in Voyager, same as OP)

Yeah that is very strange, I also have the same setting ticked that way, also due to the text suggesting to keep it that way haha. Left it alone the whole time I’ve been on this account
Could you please check your account comment on the Web interface, and see if you have "Undetermined", "English" and all the other languages you speak selected?
I solved the issue by de-selecting everything

FYI, your comment is tagged as "Deutsch", I had to add that language to see it.
You might want to select "Undetermined" and "English" as well in your account settings
