I know very little about the artist, just that I love this stuff. His main site seems to be down at the moment, but at least there's an Instagram stream: https://www.instagram.com/animalsinthings/
For those who still visit the evil empire, there's r/HybridAnimals for more of this art. Does such a community exist in the Lemmysphere? I'm not sure, but if not, it sure wouldn't hurt if someone wanted to start it up!

I've seen a lot of these 'hybrid animal' pieces, and his is easily some of the best. Not just due to his obvious technical skills, but I find he has a gift for picking some pretty awesome mashup subjects. Each one also doubles as a sort of a hilarious zinger to me, especially the "Corcenga" piece. XD
Anyway yeah, I probably have a few dozen hours in to GIMP, and there's no way I could produce stuff as smooth as this excellent artist did.
I think they were implying that this was AI instead of image merging (Photoshop/Gimp).
If you'd followed by checking his stream, showing him posing with his pieces, then that might have helped such understandings. In any case, I suspect that the two most likely likelihoods are this:
he's a huge idiot for putting fake work out there with his own name and image.
he actually DID produce this stuff, which one might discover by following his art process

I... Just gave you further context on the first comment because I felt like you might have misunderstood them, that first comment was not written by me.
I myself did read the comment and I knew by the time I commented that this was editing done by hand. I don't understand why your complaint is directed at me.
