What should I draw next?

Hello, gang!

I’m an indie artist new to Lemmy trying to make his mark on the community. I wouldn’t say I’m a great artist but I am a kind of good artist. One of my favorite things is engaging communities on the internet and making connections. I’m into superheroes, sci-fi, and horror.

So I’m here to ask, what should I draw next? Depending on the response, I may not be able to get to everything, but I may be able to bang a few out over the next few days. Let me know!

Edit: fixed a Lenny-typo. Oops!

Please do post your results to [email protected] if you want to, it seriously needs a bump upwards :-)

I love drawings/paintings with human interaction, like two persons bartering for example. What about that in a sci-fi outside marketplace?

Cheers

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m in artshare now and enjoying it. That’s the community I plan on posting everything that comes from this thread!

I love the idea of two robots arguing over the conversion ratio of nuts to bolts. You might be on to something there. :)

For me it has/can have everything; faces, interaction, full bodies, perspective, composition, colors ...

Will be seing forward to your work if you go down that road for sure!

Oops! Embarrassing auto-correct I missed. I wonder how many more times that’s going to happen. Fixed now, thank you for pointing it out!

I liked the lapsus too. Maybe some scene with something Lenny/Lemmy-related could be worth a drawing? ;)

A rubber duck that is more rubber than duck but also more duck than a rubber duck.

The first thing that sprung to mind would be a maker / sculptor kind of deal: A realistic-looking duck except for the fact that it's made from strips of old car tyre.

But I guess OP could imagine and draw that without someone actually making it.

Draw a sci-fi murder bot, deep in confliction, after murdering a crew member who turned traitor

Man, I’m such a horror guy at art, I’d love to draw more scary stuff but my style is so cartoony and cutesy that every attempt results in an abject failure.

On the contrary, the most effective "I'm sorry Jon"s are the ones that juxtapose the banality of everyday with horror. If you did a 4 panel Garfield "cartoony" cartoon, but in the last panel just had a subtle tentacle lying on the table. That could be quite effective! Lol

Got it, I think I understand. Your confidence in me is giving me hope. I’ll add it to the list and see what I can come up with. Thank you!

A cyber dragon. Partly crafted, party genetically modified, it's a specimen that crawled out from the filth of the under city where ancient runes still transmit data from a lost technology.

2

I love the imagery and potential for world building with this. It might be too much detail for this exercise but I’ll see what I can do.

Sci-fi about time travel in a dystopian future, mixed with cyberpunk. I would love to see it!
