Markdown formatting, \ is often used as what is called an escape sequence. I don't knew the rules for lemmy's markdown, just remember to add 2 \'s
with the shrug emoticon you have to use 3

Oh dear. In my client, Connect, the 2 slash version looks right and the 3 slash version has a doubled arm. I suspect it's not rendering markdown correctly.

It's often used to escape a character that would otherwise be interpreted as code. So you should be able to use two in a row to escape the escape. \

Genital attraction is a thing, and I'm fine with some women being attracted to vaginas at the exclusion of penises. Believe it or not, we used to call those women lesbians. I don't think we have a name for it anymore, which is a bit odd.
I'm sure your circular logic is able to neatly erase these people, but the equivalent erasure of gay men's genital preferences doesn't seem to occur with the same frequency. Again, this is a bit odd.
