Same. Not a fan of the music in particular, but the lyrics kick ass. Same with a lot of super heavy metal. The two genres that make hearing the words the most difficult also have the most inspiring, poignant, and kick ass lyrics. lol
I always liked "Master Race in Outer Space" by The Vandals. It's about loading all of the nazis into rockets and launching them to the moon. Good stuff.
Surveillance states and mobile recording devices in everyone's pocket, plus a media machine that portrays any violence done as barbarism means that the people delivering haymakers to skinhead fucks are no longer safe themselves
Could go the Black Panther route, just have someone be armed and tell them to leave without actually hurting them. They're cowards and won't go to places they feel threatened.
I think; if you dig deep enough in any larger fandom, you are bound to find some neo-nazis. A very loud minority of bronies painted a very large target on the rest of us with these beliefs. Especially because the outrage-fueled media ran off with a half cocked story again...
I still haven't found out whether Aryanne was originally created as a joke or not. Unfortunately it's hard for a brony to really-really hate a cute fictional pone like that, and there are a couple of great stories with her as a character (on the bad guy's team of course).
I of course hate nazis with a passion, but nazi characters in fiction can be a useful vehicle for storytelling under the right circumstances.

A couple of nazis coincidentally being fans of a specific franchise does not constitute a "nazi-problem" within said fandom, in my opinion. I'm pretty sure bronies were quick to shun said individuals. It would only be a "nazi-problem" if that belief was a common trend in the group...
I always found it mind-boggling how some neo-nazis, could somehow identify with a show based around friendship and inclusion. There is some cognitive dissonance there...
That anecdote is true, but it's also a bad comparison. You can't really kick someone out of the internet... Or really stop them from claiming association. And like I said they were shunned after their beliefs became clear...
Yeah maybe it’s changed recently with the growth in popularity but as someone who’s gone to raves and festivals for well over a decade it’s always been one of the most welcoming cultures.
I know the more major festivals have gotten less so over the years but it’s more just generic assholes not Nazis.
Protests in general should be heavily armed and (more importantly) well organized. Whether it's the Nazis or the cops (insert 'same picture' meme here), they're scared of an actual fight
Yeah but the cops have been scared of a real fight forever. They're cowards who like to attack people who can't or won't fight back, but shy away from anything where they might meet organized resistance; the Black Panthers proved it, long before I was even born
Your nerves extend beyond your brain and things like the state of your gut biome that is a complex mix of dozens of species of microorganisms strongly influences your emotions and thoughts.
Unless you want to consider those microorganisms as a body part too, it gets complicated.
You are agreeing with what he just said. It's a social contract. Those who break the social contract, pedophiles, fascists, et al, are not protected by the social contract.
Similar situation with punk. There are still Nazi Punks, but they're asking for trouble at most gigs or areas with that sort of influence. From Dead Kennedys to Chumba Wamba, folks make it known these days they're not welcome. Shame about the few bands here and there still spreading the rhetorics, yet barking dogs will always be heard in the distance...
I've been to punk rock bowling in Vegas I think four times. One constant is that any hint of Nazi bullshit will get immediately and enthusiastically trampled.
I was at a party in college & a young lady was having a not so great night. She passed out, horked up what apparently looked like Alice Springs Chicken from Outback, & one of her sorority sisters had drawn a swastika on her forehead.
My roommate & I knew where she lived. So I went to grab puke-a-potomous, she went to get her car.
By the time I got back to puke-a-potomous on the couch, someone had turned the swastika into a very crudely drawn Windows logo.
Now I kinda wanna see some NaziPunk get pinned down at a concert, while someone converts his offensive tattoos into corporate logos.
I can't believe this hasnt been taken down. This site is chock full of pussies who think this is advocating violence and you should just tolerate Nazi freedom of speech and try to win them over in the "marketplace of ideas."
You cannot logic someone out of a position that they didn't use logic to get to.
Only two options really, play on their emotional reasoning to make them feel the victim of their own beliefs, or you know, make their physical safety in question.
Manipulate them basically. Essentially weaponize the shift that conservatives have when they are personally affected by something. Think McCain turning around on gay marriage because his kid was gay or whatever.
If trump and maga can manipulate using emotion because these people only use emotional reasoning, surely a competent person can weaponize other grievances in the opposite direction.
Just make them more mad about something else that we can all agree on.
Wish I could punch Nazis but the whole "problems can't be solved without police intervention" thing kinda gets in the way. I'm not going to fucking jail because I slapped some ignorant bastard.
I still find it hard to not automatically assume a bald guy dressed in typical punk attire isn't a neo-nazi skinhead, since almost every dude I've met that looks like that has been one.
Your assumptiom would most likely be wrong. The vast majority of punks in general are anti-racist and would gladly punch a Nazi. The ones that are most likely to actually deliver the punch are the bald guys in typical punk attire.
The original skinhead movement was very progressive, anti-racist, and there are plenty of skinhead punks still representing it in the exact same way. All of the skinhead punks in my area identify as SHARPS or Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice, and I don't live in a super progressive place or anything.
Nazi skinhead punks aren't seen in public much, nowadays, mostly thanks to the guaranteed violence from the people mentioned above. If they are brave enough to be in public, they will make it known with some sort of asshole patch, asshole tattoo, or doc marten boots with white laces, but I've never seen one at a normal punk show.
Yeah, appearance is a form of communication whether we like it or not.
In my case, I’m a big white guy with a beard living in a 3/4 red area. So things like red hats, mirrored sunglasses, and camo/punisher/tacticool clothes or accessories aren’t allowed anywhere near me, lol. I stick with thick framed glasses too.
I don't really keep track of fashion for punks, (it feels like there's a hole where fashion knowledge would go-i just can't be arsed to pretend to care) but as an almost entirely bald guy (very short buzz) now I'll have another paranoia to think about.
It won't make any sense (hence why I call it that) since I almost always just wear cargo shorts and a plain solid color tee, but now that annoying part of the brain will have this to latch onto.
I've gone pretty bald so these days I buzz or shave my head. It sucks. People think I'm a Nazi or a cop or military. I guess being mistaken for military isn't that bad but I'm the opposite of a fucking Nazi and looking like a cop makes it hard to buy drugs.
Oh yeah, and punk is my favorite. I used to keep my mohawk up with spray paint.
Nazi punks fuck off! I'm not a huge Kennedys fan but I'll blast that one any time.
I despise (the sound of) punk but you gotta respect the whole pro-working class, anti-nazi movement.
That same man said in the same song...
Punk ain't no religious cult
Punk means thinking for yourself
Yeah. Respect.
I just wish punk wasn't so grating on my ears so I could get into it more. It's by far my least favorite genre lol
It's not for everyone. And that's ok.
Oh in that case we can just rearrange their brain for them a little bit
Same. Not a fan of the music in particular, but the lyrics kick ass. Same with a lot of super heavy metal. The two genres that make hearing the words the most difficult also have the most inspiring, poignant, and kick ass lyrics. lol
If you like horror, look up Carach Angren. 1000% not gonna make your ears happy but their lyrics chefs kiss
I always liked "Master Race in Outer Space" by The Vandals. It's about loading all of the nazis into rockets and launching them to the moon. Good stuff.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Sky
You want moon nazis? That's how you get moon nazis.
Nobody ever said that the nazi moon rockets would have landing gear.
That just means the Moon Nazis will be one dude, disfigured from the crash, who builds a robot army.
Send those bitches right into the sun.
Good point. I think launching them at the sun would probably be more effective.
Beating up nazis and other fascists is self defense.
Violence works. People don't wanna hear it but it works and is a useful and effective tool.
Violence is never the answer.
It's a question and the answer is "yes."
Exactly, when was the last you heard from Richard Spencer? For me it was right before he got punched in the mouth.
Sometimes violence is the answer.
They spend billions to tell us otherwise for a reason!
Surveillance states and mobile recording devices in everyone's pocket, plus a media machine that portrays any violence done as barbarism means that the people delivering haymakers to skinhead fucks are no longer safe themselves
That dude who punched a Nazi in Seattle is fine I'm pretty sure. Punching Nazis is cool
Could go the Black Panther route, just have someone be armed and tell them to leave without actually hurting them. They're cowards and won't go to places they feel threatened.
Deliver haymakers to the police en masse.
Mm, yes, great idea, I'll totally go punch the lights out of people with the legal ability to shoot me for it.
The "en masse" part is pretty important to this whole thing.
Does EDM have a nazi problem? Gonna need an explanation on that
It's 2024. I'm more surprised when a subculture doesn't have a Nazi problem, sadly.
The oddest thing to me was: even Bronies. Even Bronies have/had a Nazi problem.
I present, 'Aryanne':
Lol this looks like something the hacker 4chan created as a gatcha for good morning America
You’re surprised that 4chan dwelling furry losers have a Nazi problem?
Most furries are very anti fascist. And most of us have jobs in aerospace , IT or other stem fields.
Most of the modern world runs on furries, we're one downed plane headed to yiffcon from the stone age
Yeah furries are to tech what the bdsm community is to medicine. Can we recover? Maybe but we’re gonna have a real rough time if we lose these people
To be fair, when it's put like that...
I forget the company I keep at times.
Wasn't the whole brony thing started on /b/?
I think; if you dig deep enough in any larger fandom, you are bound to find some neo-nazis. A very loud minority of bronies painted a very large target on the rest of us with these beliefs. Especially because the outrage-fueled media ran off with a half cocked story again...

I of course hate nazis with a passion, but nazi characters in fiction can be a useful vehicle for storytelling under the right circumstances.
Lol wtf??
That still sounds like a Nazi problem to me.
If you don't kick the Nazis out immediately, you're a Nazi bar.
That anecdote is true, but it's also a bad comparison. You can't really kick someone out of the internet... Or really stop them from claiming association. And like I said they were shunned after their beliefs became clear...
I could have gone my whole life without seeing that.
BetterHelp's new social media sales tactics are pretty intense
The fuck!?
Yeah maybe it’s changed recently with the growth in popularity but as someone who’s gone to raves and festivals for well over a decade it’s always been one of the most welcoming cultures.
I know the more major festivals have gotten less so over the years but it’s more just generic assholes not Nazis.
Depends on which subgenre you mean, EDM is a broad church.
This is why every anti-nazi protest needs to have everyone armed. Those bastards won't show their faces around people who can and will fight back.
Protests in general should be heavily armed and (more importantly) well organized. Whether it's the Nazis or the cops (insert 'same picture' meme here), they're scared of an actual fight
Everyone is scared of a fight at this point it seems. Only reasoning how it could get this bad before change.
Yeah but the cops have been scared of a real fight forever. They're cowards who like to attack people who can't or won't fight back, but shy away from anything where they might meet organized resistance; the Black Panthers proved it, long before I was even born
Exactly why Reagan passed the Mulford Act when he was governor of California.
If you didn't, I was about to. California is anti-gun because one time black people had guns and Reagan didn't like it.
I met a couple of those OG Black Panthers recently. I like them a lot, they are surprisingly chill dudes that like to smoke weed
Admittedly I don't know how much fight will be left in me when I'm in my late 70s and early 80s
You don't have to have the fight in you, you have to inspire the fight in the youth
Agreed. 👍
Bingo.
Nazi punks? fuck off.
Not many groups out there I wish violence upon, but nazis sure as hell make that list.
My list is pretty short:
Nazis. Propagandists. Billionaires that affect society for their own benefit. People who hurt kids
Really it could just be two:
Propagandists and people who hurt kids.
Billionaires have no power without propaganda and Nazis aren't made without propaganda.
And the rich, don't forget the rich.
Furries took up the baseball bat of justice and drove the nazis out so that they had to form the (short-lived) fashcon
I've said it before, I'll say it again. You kids are alright, and will do better than Gen X. We weren't able to do much.
You can't destroy Nazism with your mind. You have to use your body.
My mind controls my body. Checkmate Lemmy.
Mind/body dualism is a myth, your mind is your brain and your brain is a bodypart.
Uno reverse card, Lemming.
Your nerves extend beyond your brain and things like the state of your gut biome that is a complex mix of dozens of species of microorganisms strongly influences your emotions and thoughts.
Unless you want to consider those microorganisms as a body part too, it gets complicated.
I do. We're just a couple dozen trillion collectivist bacteria in trenchcoats.
Tolerance is a social contract. Those who abide by it are protected by it. Those who reject it are not
You are agreeing with what he just said. It's a social contract. Those who break the social contract, pedophiles, fascists, et al, are not protected by the social contract.
EDM has a nazi problem?
I thought the same thing, I've never heard of Nazis being into dance music.
Maybe a bit with gabber or grindcore and harder stuff like that. In the UK/EU at least.
Find a fascist? Blizt'em with a brick! They'll Nazi it comin!
Similar situation with punk. There are still Nazi Punks, but they're asking for trouble at most gigs or areas with that sort of influence. Indeed, the situation with punk is very similar to the situation with punk. Good point.
Lol I just noticed I did this. Serves me right for getting on Lemmy after medicating! Thanks haha
was it the DK Nazi Punks Fuck Off song that belied their feelings of the nazis
I can't believe this hasnt been taken down. This site is chock full of pussies who think this is advocating violence and you should just tolerate Nazi freedom of speech and try to win them over in the "marketplace of ideas."
That sounds like a lemmy.world problem
Those same people get real salty about "tankies" who they think= anyone left of Biden and not a pacifist.
Oh no, tankies are those who believe that anybody to the right of Stalin needs to be sent to the gulag.
Remember when Nazis literally walked the streets of Tennessee a few months ago?
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/neo-nazi-rally-nashville-condemned-state-lawmakers/
There's a saying in my language (Tamil): 'Even siblings don't help the way a good beating does'
Sri Lanka doing it right! 🤣
Close, but South India
Yeah, nazis
@frog_brawler sounds like post10
@frog_brawler oh he's a YouTuber, cleans out blocked culverts and storm drains. Turns out Jello Biafra sounds a lot like him I never knew
Wow, he really does. I wonder what the Venn diagram of post10 and Black Flag fans looks like.
I fully support this. Let's do what we did in ww2.
The king of comics.
