Did someone add that before the comic was lightly fried? But after the comic was published without it?

I like how they are all carrying wood torches to light wood kindling (burn temp ~1000°F), which is completely ineffective at melting copper (melting point ~1000°C). It’s so emblematic of Jan 6 where they completely failed at overthrowing democracy.

They came really, really close. Completely failed would have looked much different; e.g. not making it up the steps of the building. In reality, they were this close to taking the VP, and one door away from members of Congress hiding under desks.

The thing is a massacre of Congress wouldn't overthrow democracy. It'd just start the Second Civil War.

So if they got the VP and convinced the head of Congress to certify the fake electors, poof. The Republic for which it fell. It was very close

That's literally what it would have done. "Second Civil War" would be a response to the overthrowing of democracy. If they took the VP and held a gun to the rest of congress to keep Trump in power, then democracy is over at that point. The ensuing civil war would be a fight to restore it.
