This feels most like Breaking Bad where Walt’s actions cascade to two planes crashing over his house and the debris landing in his pool. Which I think we can all agree is generally not a poorly written show.
I was just picturing some scene with a lawyer sitting up at night at his home, going “How in the world am I going to prove my case against Boeing! I’ve got nothing and the trial is TOMORROW!” Just then, a Boeing emergency slide crashes into his window.
That's a hardcore threat there. Mailing your own finger clearly shows that you don't care about hurting anyone even yourself it means sending a message.

Shame to hear about the lawyer falling on his own knife 6 times.
It was clearly self inflicted.....6 times......the day before the next hearing.

To be fair, with the number of parts falling off those planes it was a statistical certainty that something was going to wash up at his house!
I imagine his eyes turned into dollar signs and popped out of his head with a "cha-ching" sound when he saw it.
The slide is also now suing Boeing.
