I guess whether or not they’re underrated depends on where you are, because IME Americans usually don’t know who they are but Europeans do, even though they’re an American band; but anyway Scissor Sisters is great if you haven’t checked them out. Their last album (Magic Hour) is their weakest IMO, but it still has some good songs.

I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ is pretty representative of their upbeat songs, and Return to Oz for their slower songs.

Your taste is a lot different than mine, but check out "Free" by Florence + the Machine and see if you like it.

You would probably enjoy Alexandra Savior, The Last Dinner Party, and Roisin Murphy.
