Both GHO babies have branched!
HH6 has joined HH5 in venturing out of the nest!
They've both been out and back in a few times now.
We've maybe got a week, give or take, of them in the nest.
Soon the kids will be out in the world, somewhat supervised, but mostly on their own!

I love how even exploring they can't stay away from each other
They'll all hang out for a good bit yet until slowly going their separate ways. I've been impressed with how much of a family bond they do have.
From the baby owl guide In posted to your other comment in the Food Coma post:
Free range parenting... at it's finest.
I'm kinda surprised by how long the parents do actually watch out for them. I used to think they were on their own when they left the nest.
Checking in with this owl family has given me a much deeper respect for nesting. It's far from the idyllic life depicted most times. They've been in harsh weather, survived 2 potential murder attempts from other birds, expended massive amounts of calories in gathering food and not sleeping. All things that could cost then their own lives and make success of the whole family impossible.
Even with this extreme care, the owls will have about a 50/50 chance of reaching their second birthdays, so this time we have with them is precious. I will miss them when they're gone, and hopefully we will see the parents return again.
Kinda like going off to college only to return on the weekends for laundry and food,
Basically 😁
