I just downbeaned your comment.

FAQ

What does this mean?

The amount of beans on your comment and bean account has decreased by one bean.

Why did you do this?

There are several reasons I may deem a comment to be unworthy of positive or neutral beans. These include, but are not limited to:

• Rudeness towards other beanikans, • Spreading incorrect tomato sauce, • Sarcasm not correctly flagged with a /s.

Am I banned from the beans?

No - not yet. But you should refrain from making comments like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to issue an additional downbean, which may put your commenting and posting privileges in jeopardy.

I don't believe my comment deserved a downbean. Can you un-downbean it?

Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downbean. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private beannote explaining what I got wrong. I tend to respond to beannotes within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downbean appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.

How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Accept the downbean and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on beans. I will continue to issue downbeans until you improve your conduct. Remember: beans are a privilege, not a right.

Most of the apps requires an upvote to hide post. That could be the reason.

I use Connect, before today update, if you want to auto hide read posts you had to upvote or comment, up voting was the easier one hence a lot unexplainable upvotes.

When you read it backwards it spells MAPS. Does Lemmy upvote Maps?

What's a pedophile related map? Do I even want to know or should I spare my innocence?

Weirdly this is the only post on op's profile with only a few comments made by them so this could actually be a legitimate concern

I.e. viral marketing

Oh, I know this one!

Spam is also great in spicy or tomato soups, especially with rice and rice cakes. Do add less salt to the soup though, spam has a lot of salt in there already.

Hawaiian breakfast too: spam, eggs, rice. So simple yet so good.

Spam fries are delicious :-) Fried spam is also a great breakfast food.

I first heard of Spam and eggs after watching 50 First Dates when I was a kid. I love the stuff. It shortens lifespans, sure, but am I really living if I'm not eating something delicious from time to time?

3

The answer is clearly yes, though it's a shame, I had hoped Lemmy would avoid spam posts for longer.

7

Doesn't spam also have a shit ton of sodium in it if I recall correctly

Spam is salty, just like spez

5

Plenty of sodium and nitrates in every can. Make your cardiologist shit their pants with this one tasty trick.

Fun fact, in Japan they consider Spam delicious for some bizarre reason. Maybe it's the culinary equivalent of tentacle porn, I don't know. But one way to eat it is called Spam Musabi and it looks like sushi.

6

But Spam is pretty good.

Butter some bread to toast, cook up some bacon, fry the spam in that, toss on some cheddar cheese and you've a great sandwich. (I dislike egg but that's probably a great addition too.) Pepper to taste.

Ignore the multiple grams worth of salt you'll be taking in. It's worth it.

Spam Musabi is actually Hawaiian! Although it is enjoyed in Japan as well I think

8

Oh shit, I had no idea. I've never eaten it, I just remember seeing it in an article more than a decade ago and thought it was super weird

3

It's the salt, human bodies crave salt when they are low on it and human bodies will want to get salt from wherever they can

Salt also improves flavour and spam has a shit ton of it

3
lemmy.world

yes, because I improperly judged spam. I thought it was icky, then I went to Hawaii.

I already love spam, but tell me more. Do they have some killer recipe I should know about?

It really just opened my eyes to Spam Musubi, which I'm assuming as someone who likes spam is already aware of, but if not..

https://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/musubi/ heres a basic recipe.

Outside of this, it's just commonly used as a meat option in food, like in a dish that may have ham it'd have spam as an option.

Every since people lost all their karma from migrating to lemmy there has been so much just upvote begging, and stupid trash post. It's crazy to what happens to a redditor when they lose all their karma.

1

I've already used the 'give peas a chance' joke on Lemmy... I'm kinda sad I spent that one already.

3

I WILL also get a pan, slice some onions, chop some chilly, put all of those together, add some water and stir for 5 minutes on medium heat Tastes great

2

No

Maybe it tastes nice idk, but it smells like something I'd (reluctantly) feed to my dog!
