Memmy for iOS has hit the App Store
In case anyone wanted the non-beta or couldn’t get in because TestFlight was full, this just popped in about an hour ago.
Congratulations to the dev team!

Hey all. Replying from .world since...well you guys know.
Anyway, thank you for all your support over the past weeks. It's helped us get to this point.
A word of caution: The build that was released is slightly outdated and there are a few issues that have already been addressed in that build. Unfortunately because you can't replace the build in review, we were not able to update it as we went through this nearly week-long back and forth with Apple. It required an appeal to get us onto the store.
With that said, I'll be releasing the final version of 0.0.2 tonight to TestFlight, and will begin build versioning starting at 0.1.0, which will be the next release on the store. I'll try and have something submitted to them tonight and hopefully it will be reviewed and released within a day or so.
Cheers!
You’re awesome, and I hope you sleep at some point, haha.
Replying from Memmy beta, love it, thanks for all your hard work!
I don't even own an iOS device but I'm delighted that you and so many other devs have gone so hard at putting different apps out there.
They may not all take off, and users will likely graduate to a handful because of power laws and whatnot but that doesn't matter right now: you guys are shipping and you're giving us options. You all rock!
Just downloaded and wrote a nice review. Really appreciate the effort it must have taken to get this live so fast. App seems awesome so far!!!
Congrats on the milestone! I’ve been using Memmy for a few weeks now and the progress has been staggering. It’s definitely my go to lemmy app.
Any say to magnify font or change a bit layout? Feels cramped on an iPhone mini
There are some options for font size, font weight, etc. inside of the settings.
Okay for some reason I didn’t find the settings but it’s all good now Thanks
I haven’t been following lemmy politics what happened with .world
Oh nothing happened. I have an account on .ml that I usually use but it's been acting super slow all day long. Just something us refugees have to deal with 🦾
Maybe they’re alluding to the BeeHaw defederation because that’s where they’re normally from?
/shrug
Oh ok. I didn’t know they were from beehaw. Make sense then. They’re the super private one that’s blocking other servers right
Oh I was just making a blind guess about that. I don’t actually know that to be the case.
(Posted from Memmy, seems nice so far…)
Ah I see
Just switched from the test flight that I’ve been using since I made my account during the great Reddit migration of June 30th to the App Store version and can’t wait for more updates
I think it’s that the dev had an account on ml and ml seems down atm.
Thank you for your time and hard work, i’m enjoying the app so far. Can I kindly request a feature to hide bars when scrolling?
Thank you so much for the hard work. I love the app!
Replying with the Memmy for Lemmy iOS app. It seems to work fine.
I’ve been beta testing since day one - which was only 22 days ago. It’s amazing how great this app has gotten in such a short time.
I entered the TestFlight of Memmy, Mlem, Thunder and Liftoff!, and Memmy impressed me with the speed of development, stability, and feature addition. I love it.
Mlem is a close second, but it lacks QOL details that Memmy got right from the start. The other two are still at alpha level, but all of them are improving steadily.
The Fediverse, its ecosystem, and the passion developers and admins pour into it, it feels like an alternate Internet reality, but a better reality for a change.
I’ve also tried several betas and Memmy has been my personal favorite since nearly day one (first build didn’t have dark mode, haha, but like 12 hours later there was a second build with dark mode and I’ve been here ever since). And the devs are amazing.
This is an exciting time. I know the fediverse has been around for a while but it still feels like getting on the ground floor of something both brand new and also harkening back to the old internet. It’s awesome.
Hey, there’s a username I recognize. Beta tester since day one for me too. I agree, the growth this app has seen is incredible
Hey cod, yeah we’ve been pestering poor Gavin and Sean and Teflo and everyone else for weeks, but this is a huge milestone day!
Poor dev team, I’m convinced gk hasn’t had an hour of sleep in three weeks. Even on his supposed day off I don’t remember him being particularly inactive, the man is a machine I swear. I just checked TestFlight, the last 0.0.1 update was build 80, and we’re currently on 0.0.2.17 which is insane for 22 days of development. I hope they know their work is appreciated
I was previously using Firefox on mobile but I tried Memmy and it’s actually a much better experience.

You love to see it
Already was using it in TestFlight, but needed to download it to rate it in the App Store.
Same. This is the way.
This one’s been the best of the iOS clients I’ve seen with wefwef coming in distant second. Excited that it’s officially released now. Congrats to Gavin and all his hard work!
In case anyone didn’t see — the App Store version is slightly outdated from the current version in TestFlight. The dev (Gavin) posted about it a little while ago on this same thread
I’m probably going to hold off ‘til he gives the all clear on TestFlight but still exciting
Oh hell yeah! I’ve been beta testing it. May grab the non-beta just to rate it like others.
Well done!
All credit to @[email protected] and the rest of the team whose Lemmy names I don’t know haha
Nice. I’ve been trying all the TestFlight apps and Memmy is my favorite. Going to download the official app now.
Woot! On official.
Wow this is fantastic! Reminds of Apollo so much; great job devs!
guess im gonna stop using wefwef now
Is this open source?
I swear i can read sometimes. Yes, its open source.
https://github.com/Memmy-App/memmy
Yep. Fully open source on GitHub.
This is so freaking cool. Like many others, I’ve been testing Mlem, Memmy, Liftoff, and Thunder as well as Wefwef and honestly they are all great. I definately have gravitated to Memmy the most because of the speed of bug fixes and communication the dev has.

Just downloaded it. This is awesome. Thanks for your hard work!!
All credit to Gavin and the dev team, I’ve just been beta testing since early. It is an amazing app for sure!
Just commenting to leave my appreciation for the devs.
The experience on the app so far has been working perfectly and helpful for me to enter into lemmy as a new user.
I have been using Mlem, but this post encouraged me to try out Memmy, liking it so far but I can’t figure out how to reply to comments. Can anyone help me? I’m on IOS
Swipe commands. Right to left short swipe is comment.
Left to right short swipe is upvote, long swipe is downvote.
Got it figured out now, thanks!
Never mind, problem solved lmao
Thank you! I did not expect a lemmy app to be on the app store that fast!
I’ve only been around Lemmy for a few days — and Memmy for less obviously, but the TestFlights I’ve seen, this is the most polished and has helped me feel most at home moving from Reddit. Well done. 👏🏼
Been beta testing this from the beginning. Just downloaded from the App Store to leave a review. Congrats and great job by the Memmy team!
Hey thanks for the update mate. Memmy is my go to app for lemmy and the changes since the first beta to the release now is staggering. Looking forward to more updates!
You rock!
great work!
An open source app with a modern UI that got developed in blazing fast speeds? Sign me up. Keep up the great work folks!
Using Memmy for the first time on this post (too late to get in the beta) and it’s a great experience so far! I love that the markdown options are built-in like Apollo had, the UI is elegant and easy to use, and smooth!
Giving it a shot now, thanks!
Congrats to the dev! I’m loving Memmy and every improvement/update makes the experience even better. Thank you for the hard work.
Amazing, thanks for making this happen!
Congratulations, wonderful work.
Unreal
does memmy have an “all” like wefwef does or are you restricted to your chosen server?
On the feed screen, top right can change your feed - all, local and subscribed are the options.
oh nice i see now, thanks!
Memmy is great! Been using it since about 2 weeks now. Really feel at home.
I’ve got the App Store version, loving it !
Great job team
Sweet! Trying this. Anything else out on the store yet?
Not that I’ve seen, but I know Mlem is hoping to get to MVP soon and I think they’re the next closest, everything else is still pretty early on the iOS side.
Wow, Memmy looks slick. Loving the option menu.
Memmy users are called Memmers? :)
Trying it now. Great job!
Reinstalled just to give 5 star
Way to go team!
I’m unable to upvote, downvote, or respond to comments. Is this a known issue?
Slide controls. Left to right short slide is upvote, long is downvote, and right to left short slide is comment.
Very cool!
Is it kosher to give some suggestions here? It would be really nice to have an account switcher option. I have my main account but I’d like to quick every now and again.
I’m not a dev but there is a quick account switcher, just add in your accounts through settings and top center can switch accounts on the fly. I have 2 accounts and switch between the two when one instance is hiccuping. I know some others have a SFW and NSFW profile, haha.
Very cool. I see how to add but then how do you actually switch between them?
When you’re in your feed, top center should say your username and instance. If you tap that, it’ll pull up a dropdown with all of your added accounts.
We’ll there it is….
Thanks!
The only reason I’m on Lemmy is because of this app. Made creating an account so easy and viewing feeds super simple. Thanks and look forward for the updates.
On the app now! Great first impression and enjoying the experience! Thank you all for the IOS efforts!
Nice work! have been using Liftoff for a minute but this is a really nice experience.
Where can I post questions and feedback? I ran into a post with a YouTube link but the app won’t display it or allow me to access it.
Can you add the ability to open a link in native web browser? This would help with the above issue
![email protected]
I recommend putting in the bug request and feedback in GitHub so the devs will see it and fix bugs like that. The beauty of open source :)
https://github.com/gkasdorf/memmy
Started using it yesterday, looks promising so far.. though scrolling seems a bit janky at the moment.
Somehow I missed this app. So far it's my favorite.
Just upgraded from the testflight version. Feels good!
The official App Store version is slightly out of date - here’s a note from the dev - https://lemmy.world/comment/871711
But it’ll be updated with the most recent fixes soon :)
I might’ve rushed into it without reading beforehand😅. Redownloaded the testflight for the more frequent updates
i really dislike how it puts your email across the top banner. mine is long and it covers the filter buttons at the top
Really? That’s too bad, I recommend sending a bug report via GitHub so the dev team can fix that.
I had the same problem, as i signed in using my email address instead of my username. The app has no option to sign out either. You can edit your account, but only the password, not the username.
I uninstalled and reinstalled it, this time using my username instead of email, now fixed.
Go to profile - accounts - change account settings and there should be a delete account button there.
nice workaround, thank you 👍
congrats on the release :) Does it mean we should seitxh to the appstore version to get future updates?
If you have the TestFlight version, Gavin will still be pushing updates there first, but if you want the stable releases only, feel free to go to the App Store.
If you want to rate the app, you can’t do it with a TestFlight version so you have to go to the App Store version to rate it, but you can switch back after.
How does this differ from wefwef? That already feels apollo-ish to me.
Wefwef is a PWA - a web app running from a browser rather than a native app.
holy cow! it’s happening!!!
