Hmmm why dont they just stop at the k. Like they are already saying Spy-k the u feels unnecessary.

The Japanese alphabets (Hiragana & Katakana) only have syllables, also they don't have la (letter L), so they substitute it with R sounds.

So English words that get adopted into Japanese always get some kind of syllable ending.

トイレット (toiretto) - Toilet キットカット (kittokatto) - Kitkat スターバックス (sutaabakksu) - Starbucks
