To make this possible, Starbucks is pouring $450m into developing a revolutionary bar setup known as the Siren System. This new setup optimizes the placement of essential ingredients like dairy, pumps, caffeine, and ice, making the brewing process a whole lot more streamlined and faster.

Under the current system, it takes 16 steps and 87 seconds to serve With the Siren System, it will be 14 steps and a quick 36 seconds.
Now, with an estimated 383 billion potential drink combinations at Starbucks, it's no wonder that the wait time has shot up to an average of 5 minutes. However, all this complexity isn't just to annoy you with the wait. Starbucks is willing to put in the extra work because all these "extras" in your cup contribute a whopping $1B per year...
