Damn son. Certainly wouldn’t want to be in your shoes. Usually I’ve always imagined high metabolism equating to higher…

High metabolism means the body goes through stuff really fast. For me it’s hard to keep up with it, so I’m always at a deficit.

Type 1 diabetes shows up early 90% of the times (it used to be knows as juvenile diabetes). It’s a result of a autoimmune disorder that destroys the insulin producing cells in the pancreas (it’s a completely different disease than type 2). I was diagnosed when I was 11 yo. Type 2 is a metabolism disorder, often as a result of excess weight and a sedentary life style that develops insulin resistance. While type 2 continue to produce insulin, albeit now enough or not as effective because of fat, type ones stop producing it completely.

I guess everyone is built differently. I’m 34, 5 foot 7 and I’ve never weighed more than 60Kg. I have a very fast metabolism (I can have a meal and be starving within 2 hours) and I’m a type one diabetic. If I’m not in perfect control of my blood glucose for a bit, I start losing weight like crazy.

Im now weight 53Kg and struggling to gain any measure of weight.
