Interesting to know IAmA hadn't taken any actions toward protesting until this. More mods need to take their ball and go home, help their communities coordinate relocation to alternative platforms.

That's some rad fucking news. I guess I'll keep the app installed then.
It's a new app (looks identical) but you can register now for when it's ready

Man this one hurts. Been using boost since like 2016. Spyke app is decent but I hope Boost opens up the API to the app…
Dev is working on a Boost for Lemmy. Might finally make the fediverse feel more accessable.

It would be more useful if we had a way to curtate the feed. Right now it's a shotgun blast of crap I don't really care about.

Should have done his research before making himself look like a buffoon. Between Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4, and FFXIV, real gamers (TM) aren't going out to do much of anything they don't absolutely have to.

Love the creativity in the protests. I wonder if there's a way for mods to get away with deleting older posts according to new rules, decimating the amount of content reddit has to offer.
Alternatively, could they just stop moderating altogether. The opposite of "going dark," let all the spam and unhinged rants nuke the subs for as long as reddit intends to implement detrimental changes.

Squabbles?
Squabbles.io is another "reddit alternative" but looks to be more text focused.

Reddit continues to prioritize profit over user experience, but it isn't going away any time soon. This isn't their first unfavorable move. Won't be their last.
The real issue seems to be a lack of competition and viable alternatives. Here's hoping sites/apps like this one and Squabbles gain more users and credibility out of the experience.
