Just updated to iOS 17 and realised how much more annoying Siri is

Basically I was watching Linus tech tips on my teli. My man casually said Siri, not even "hey Siri". Just Siri.

And it triggered my Siri which in turn thought it has to airplay some song on my teli. So annoying ugh

Anyway thanks for listening to my first world problem ramblings, hoping to get to know some of ya mates since it feels lowkey in here.

Damn, I cannot recall where I’ve seen this, but I saw a video about dedicated chips for audio recognition. They said the special phrase is basically the only thing those chips can recognise. After you said the magical words it triggers a response from the device. If this is true for the iPhone? I don’t really know. What boggles my mind about this is that you set up Siri at first and it only responds if it’s the right voice.

For dashcams and other devices I think this might be true since it’s way cheaper than building a software around this task.

So it is kind of listening the whole time. But only with a low power stupid enough chip that recognises the trigger and nothing more.

Apple I can understand, however there's no effing way google would NOT want to process everything and anything that's said.

Wow, there are some serious 0 day vulnerabilities that have been patched since ios 15. Would suggest you update in case you've got something to hide...
