Is there any chance for Spyke to grow?

Obviously the whole Reddit fiasco got a lot of eyes on alternatives like Spyke, but now that it's dying down a bit I'm wondering how Spyke could continue to expand now.

The big barrier to a lot of people other than test pilot is the requirement for Google sign-in instead of having a custom account system

You posted yesterday about what alternatives people prefer and today this. Maybe just chill? It will grow. Reddit wasn't an immediate success by any means, neither was Digg, etc. This will grow, and the fact the developer is working to connect it to the fediverse means it will be connected to a lot more users and there will be a lot more content. I would love to see it continue to improve and see new features, but I don't think it's going at a bad pace by any means.
