Rainier is the most dramatic, but all of the big volcanoes in the PNW have similar effects. I've camped on the west slow of Mt Hood and watched a shadow life this appear and then slowly dissipate as the sun creeps over the mountain.

Waking up and drinking some coffee as the sun rises in a place like that is truly magical.
