Koko Crater Railway Trail - This place is no joke

My husband and I had no intention of doing anything active as we wanted to bask in the cloudless beaches, a luxury we don't have back in Norway. But he was quite determined to see the sunrise.
So early did we rise and up this harrowingly steep trail did we suffer.
This 1.6 mile out and back walk was not easy but we did it.
I actually missed the sunrise due to my underestimation of the trail's difficulty but Magnus was able to catch it. The end was worth it and we were left with fun souvenirs. (read: sore and painful knees for ~3days and the stark realization that we are out of shape).
However difficult it was, it was inspiring. I loved walking amongst like minded individuals and when I met some mental difficulties, strangers lent me their hands and their hearts. I've forgotten what that was like - it was so refreshing.
Hello from Lowther Castle and the estate trails.

Just thought I'd post some of my favourite pictures, from the lake to the woods, the gorgeous fell ponies and the historic Lowther Family Church.
It is a privilege to be able to work in such a beautiful place.
