I don't think I have superhero fatigue so much as DC fatigue. The movies are consistently subpar. The flash had funny moments for sure but knowing all the things Ezra did, seeing Flashpoint without reverse flash, the very poor CGI and knowing this movie doesn't matter since it's all going to be rebooted and poor cameos all factored into just not giving a shit.
DC movies are just usually trash and Warner Bros. refuses to do anything about it. I thought the second Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey were okay, but none of them have been great for a long time.
I definitely suffer from Superhero fatigue and have long since grown tired of the various IPs and films. I felt GotG 3 was pretty good (despite me finding the Guardians themselves tiresome with their banter) and also really enjoyed The Flash. Sure it had ton of fanfare with the cameos etc. but overall I thought it stood out as unique amongst its peers.
The article cites “CinemaScore” as the source of its B rating as “panned” but also mentions how high the audience score is (and inversely middling the critics score is) via Rotten Tomatoes. Odd to see such a disparity between those polled.
It does make sense though. Critics whole job is to berate and regulate how things are ahem "supposed to be" as some form of logic that believes that they dictate what the masses like
The audience scores are actually how the masses feel regardless of those so called rules.
As a general rule of thumb I've stopped caring about scores after seeing the movie moonlight. The scores were out of this world and yet I was bored senseless after watching it. Meanwhile a movie which I thoroughly enjoyed for being hilarious (Project X) got a 6 or something. I've stopped caring about the rating ever since. In my experience I usually watch short clips from YouTube first and if that makes me want to watch it then so be it. To hell with ratings.
