As a general rule of thumb I've stopped caring about scores after seeing the movie moonlight. The scores were out of this world and yet I was bored senseless after watching it. Meanwhile a movie which I thoroughly enjoyed for being hilarious (Project X) got a 6 or something. I've stopped caring about the rating ever since. In my experience I usually watch short clips from YouTube first and if that makes me want to watch it then so be it. To hell with ratings.
