When you vote, they mark your left index finger with indelible ink, which stays on your finger for weeks to months. The page didn't specify a reason, but I assume it's so people don't try to get duplicate votes in.
I was day before yesterday years old when I learnt that these evm machines just automated the ballot dropping. I actually used to think everything happened online and these evms were secure machines which did that. Naive me.
Is the purple mark on your finger to show that you voted?

I did not I was out of station. They should have online voting like the USA.
