I think the new Tofus are great boards. I haven't personally used one but the updates seem great.

It's the GMK Art deskmat.

There is a pretty big Game Boy modding community that is constantly pushing forward with mods. Also the ROM hack community. Game Boy is still alive... ish.

I too did a sketchy cut on a table saw when making my wrist rest! Looks great.
