That's what bothers me about people calling him a 'traitor'. A traitor to what? Global US imperialism? Massacres of school children, bombing weddings, hospitals? Long before Trump the US has been a murderous racist thug stalking the earth like a demon.

At the ones I've seen, the action itself was just speeches and signs etc, but people were meeting new comrades and organizations, some people learning about PSL for the first time which actually calls for serious action. It's not intended to be a strike-back type of thing like what's happening in France or Albania, it's helping people who have never done any serious political work in their lives get their foot in it.

I'm not doubting some did, but I hear that narrative during every protest, and I have seen them smashing Louis Vuitton and other corps windows but leaving local businesses untouched. That's how it's usually been where I'm at when this stuff happens, a business seen as supporting the police or CVS/Target etc got attacked but the local store next door run by cooler people was untouched even without boarded windows in 2020.

Religion is just the tool, it's the antisocial and murderous reactionary ideologies pushed through major religions that allows it. Christianity in particular does have a lot of ways of condoning imperialism etc but I believe it can be for good, there have been numerous Christian groups that broke away from the mainstream and said that to follow the scriptures required a form of socialism. I was raised with a Buddhist leaning upbringing, and it instilled in me ideals like a respect for all life and different cultures, to persue a harmony between humanity and nature, but also allows a scientific and materialist view rather than pure idealism.

I just watched a clip, I've seen it in person before though more than once, where someone was just standing there alone doing nothing as the police groups ran by. Around a dozen cops threw him to the ground, stomped on him, beat him with sticks and he died. They want to kill us. So whatever fighting back they feel is necessary is what should be done. What are you doing to save people's lives?

Not all normies think that way, some can actually see the logical chain and think about the situation rationally. Are you in the US? You can get from any point of France to the capital relatively quick through driving or transit. People in the US do stuff but it's tough to have numbers in the streets like this when we are so spread out and the police will shoot you on the way.

There should be some kind of punishment for knowingly arresting people you can't charge with a crime. This has happened at numerous protests for years, dozens of people arrested, released without a single charge.
