The Browser Wasn’t Enough, Google Wants To Control All Your Software

I feel like this is the new normal cycle of every software company. Once they become a leader, it's never enough. It replicates the rise of billionaires. Just as the billionaires being rich beyond anything they and all of their succeeding generations could ever spend is not enough, being the industry leader and producing an amazing product that people want is somehow not enough. It always turns to control and power.

Dead reddit theory

After being there for 12 years, I was banned for no reason I know of. Appealed it a bunch of times and finally gave up. Done with reddit. Maybe I'll grab content from there for here.

This 81-year-old still works at Home Depot to support herself and her 90-year-old husband

This is what countries without a good social support network look like. It's either government or younger generations that take care of elders. The US used to be government with retirement and social security but there's a shift and US kids were not raised in a social situation that supports elderly, so it's going to be a hard transition. The US has forgotten what the government was established for.

Dead reddit theory

Yeah I agree. I feel like I'm still figuring it out and missing things. I switched to BlueSky and feel like that was almost intuitive. That's one of the big issues with moving away from reddit for a lot of users.

Nearly half of Americans say they are cutting daily expenses to deal with spiking gas prices from Trump’s Iran war

For now, we have the funds to live and purchase things the same as we have in the past but are choosing not to. I personally am avoiding purchasing from large retailers as much as possible simply because I refuse to support this administration. I avoid companies that have supported or support Trump in any way. While our spending habits have changed, it isn't solely because of gas prices. But it does suck that all my cars require premium gas, so I'm also driving as little as possible right now.
